Studnets with Adhd and autism playing games

The population of interest is 200 students. The large sample is used to get a more important more accurate conclusion of the study. The subjects sampled are students with autism. And the rest are students with adhd. All students are recruited based on their health history of medical history of their adhd and autism. The conditions that were made were that half the students were experimental group would be playing the game and the other half would be controlled group. Subject were assigned randomly. Subjects ages from 18-30 were included. The screening criteria that was used was their medical records that displayed whether they had adhd or autism. The average age of the subjects was 18-30. Same amount of females and males in the group. The control group was also half women and half men. ethnicity and education wasn’t important in this study. Subjects were motivated to participate by giving them course credit and paying them 10 dollars each. Data was collected after each round of the game. If the experimental group had better results, then games do help students with better attention with adhd.

FA16- Project 20 Week 5

I’m Focusing on is the ability of how different individuals perceive information towards the same topics and how that relates towards logical thinking. The primary process I’m studying is how logical thinking could improve through a series of games that would consist of different areas of study. However, the difference in this game would be one group would be assigned a series of only educational material (e.g. math problems, English, Science, etc.) and the other game would be manipulated by it consisting of both educational material and real world issues e.g. (current world issues, relationship problems, every-day problems that we go through.) The group that will be focusing on both educational and non-educational material will be manipulated to investigate patterns of behaviors and responses to certain questions by their solutions to problems that would be presented to them.

FA16-Project 20 Week 4

The cognitive process I’m focusing on is the ability of how different individuals perceive information towards the same topics and how that relates towards logical thinking. FA16-Project 20- week 3

The game i played this week was called  Plague Inc. which was created by Ndemic creations. The game is a simulation game that allows a player to develop a disease  and make it stronger  it to wipe out the human population before a cure is developed. The game teaches players how a plague can be spread and how it can evolve making it more deadly as time passes. The learning experience that the game is attempting for the player learning about different viruses or bacteria’s that can serious damage to the world’s population if there is no cure. The game uses a system where you gain DNA Points which is used to evolve the Disease  the way you want to. You can evolve how fast it spreads, also such as making the disease Airborne. You get DNA by clicking on the DNA symbol shows up on the screen. As the disease spreads all over the world, countries try to develop a disease and you get alerts on how many days you have left before the cure is created . In order to avoid the cure being made quick, you have to click on the popup that looks like the cure symbol to stop the process. Overall it was not an easy game to play but it was a great experience.

FA16-Project20- Week 2

The game that I played this week was dumb ways to die.The game is trying to teach you how to survive. The learning experience the game attempts to create for the player is to think fast and survive as quick as possible. Just one player is engaged in the game. There is only one player in this game. In this game there is different methods to survival such as ducking, jumping, stopping blood. There are different rules for each objective such as flicking the piranha away to survive, jumping at the right time on the train, and ducking under the bear at the right time to not get eaten.
