Fa16-project11 week 1

  1. imageThis was my first time playing this game. I played it twice. Second time I actually won the presidency! It was pretty hard, because I was still getting to know the game, and to choose the right choices in order to get ahead of my opponent. Some parts of the game were easy to navigate, with the help of the tutorial. Having a little knowledge of the states that were democrat (the party I chose), helped put me at an advantage when polling and making appearances in the game. The main purpose of this game is to campaign across America, and do whatever it takes to become president. Fundraising, polling, appearances, and media coverages are all the things  that help you win the game. As long as the player thinks critically, then he/she can win. They even let you design your own campaign slogan, poster, and tour is. Pretty awesome. Overall great game!

FA16-Project 2: Week 1

Hello Everyone!

The game I played was “Save The Park.” This game was created to teach it’s users the importance of keeping the park and environment clean. The game can be played at the following website;  http://www.gamesforchange.org/play/save-the-park/.  I enjoyed playing this game but at times felt it was very repetitive and easy. The game is for many ages and can easily be played. Before each level there was a “Did You Know?” fact that was very interesting. The player was able to have fun and learn at the same time. In order to move on to the next level you had to clear the level before. You could not move on unless you had enough points from cleaning up garbage, planting trees or collecting soil. The object of the game was to keep the parks clean and save them from pollution. I believe this is a great game to teach kids the importance of cleaning up their mess when at the park. The simply act of making sure your garbage is in the can before you leave can help the environment and help influence, people around you to do the same. It only takes one person to make a big difference. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a fun, easy game to play. I would especially recommend this game to parents of young children. It will help teach children at an early age the importance of keeping our environment clean. Everyone needs to do their share to keep the parks clean and an enjoyable place to be. One person can make a huge difference!

FA16-Project6 Week 1

Hello,

My name is Tisha. I played the game  called  Young Meteorologist Program.  It teaches its players what to do in severe weather conditions such as hurricanes and floods. I found this game to be very easy to play as it is geared towards a younger group of players. There wasn’t anything that really challenged me mentally while playing this game. I found it to be informative because  it did provide information relating to  severe climate conditions that I wasn’t aware of prior to playing such as lightning can strike the same  place twice. Additionally,  when you see lightening  every 5 seconds that past mean  it’s 1 mile away. For example after 10 seconds has elapsed   the lightening is 2 miles away from you, 15 seconds equals 3 miles away etc. Although this game is not geared towards a mature crowd it did provide  good tips and information that can be helpful to all.
